Keep digital and physical copies of your passport, visa, and travel insurance — stored separately. Leave the passport in the hotel safe; carry the copy on you.
Don’t flash expensive electronics or jewellery unnecessarily. Delhi is not particularly crime-ridden for a city its size, but why tempt fate when fate is clearly paying attention?
If something feels too good to be true — a price, an offer, a stranger’s generosity — it usually is. Scepticism is your friend here. Be polite, decline, and walk away.
